<p>Harmonica enables fast collective sensemaking through 1:1 dialogues with humans, using AI to synthesize their responses and ask follow-up questions if needed. It saves a lot of time (no need to process the inputs), makes powerful frameworks such as Sociocracy, Agile, or Cynefin easy to use, and makes governance more participatory and robust.</p><h2><strong>The Problem</strong></h2><p>Sensemaking is the biggest bottleneck of decentralized governance. <a href="https://blog.harmonica.chat/before-the-proposal" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Our research funded by Arbitrum</strong></a> showed that DAOs desperately seek alignment, but often struggle with OKRs, purpose statements, RFPs, theories of change, etc. These artifacts create guardrails for decision-making, and are often co-created in small groups of people with high context, which heavily relies on facilitation skills of team members responsible for governance or strategy. Facilitation takes too much time and effort – normally 1-2 months of hard work to engage more people and process their inputs. This limits the agility and effectiveness of DAOs in defining direction and making decisions.</p><h2><strong>The Solution</strong></h2><p>Generative AI + conversational UX + facilitation wisdom = async collective sensemaking. Harmonica synthesizes input into OKRs, RFPs, proposals, roadmaps, etc. without humans talking to (arguing with) each other. It removes conflict and increases engagement. Participants can be candid with their opinions without offending others, hear positions and arguments independent of individual personalities, bypass organizational politics, and still benefit from a collective dialogue that bridges opinions and boosts alignment.</p>
